Positive benefits of local wind energy projects have been confirmed by communities which have welcomed the opportunity to contribute to sustainable development. Some of the benefits associated with all wind projects are:
- Jobs and local economic benefits - local contractors have a large part
to play in the construction of a wind project and associated infrastructure.

Potential for increased tourism - if it is desired by the local community,
wind projects can be used to enhance tourism and attract additional
visitors to an area.
- Local involvement in sustainable development - wind projects have huge environmental benefits, and lead directly to reductions in emissions of greenhouse gases, helping in the fight against climate change. Wind projects can act as a local focus, e.g. for school projects and initiatives (renewable energy is now part of the national curriculum).
In addition to these benefits, Pennant Wind would like to put something back in to the community. Pennant Wind will listen to and act upon local needs - making sure that the community shares in the benefits.
